AWKWARD BACK TO SCHOOL PHOTO + FOCUS ON THESE 3 THINGS
Do you remember that sixth grade “socks perfectly match the outfit” back-to-school energy? I’m feeling it BIG time. It’s one of the reasons I love this time of year.
As we wind down August and shift from Summer to Fall, it’s a chance to tune in and focus on what’s ahead.
Today, I’m sharing three ways to make the most of the changing season with more presence and intention.
Engage in the aliveness of the new season. Notice the vibrant crimson and gold colors of Fall, the buzz and laughter of kids filling schoolyards and grocery stores, and the lively crowds of college football fans sporting their favorite team colors on a crisp Saturday morning. Take a moment to consciously tune into the sights, sounds, smells, and textures of this changing season. Let these sensory experiences ground you in the present and inspire new energy.
Reflect and identify adjustments. It’s the perfect time for a reset. Look back on your year so far—what needs to change or shift? What’s draining your energy? What’s possible if you let go of what isn’t serving you? Sometimes, subtracting something can be more powerful than adding anything new. Choose one thing to intentionally let go of that will help you get closer to where you want to be by the end of the year.
Accelerate your progress. There’s still plenty of time to make meaningful progress toward your goals for the year or maybe it's time to make a new one. Notice where the energy is naturally guiding you, instead of where you’re feeling pushed. What's the one thing that's really making a difference for you? Double down, put more effort there. What’s one small, decisive action you can take right now to keep the momentum going?
As we embrace the transition from Summer to Fall, it's a chance to realign and revitalize ourselves. Just like the thrill of a new school year, let this upcoming season be your chance for a fresh start, an opportunity to engage with your life and business more deeply.
So, shoulders back, chin up, pearls (or plastic beads) in place–channel the joy, anticipation, and confidence of 12 (ish)-year-old you. Ready yourself to embrace the new and exciting that lies ahead!
Here’s to Fall being a season of meaningful transformation and renewed purpose. And as always, stay open, brave, and on-purpose.
P.S. Shout out to wicker furniture making a comeback. However, this high back chair beauty--she's the real OG!
